What would the cash-out button say?

Before kickoff, try a score and a clock and see roughly what a sportsbook might offer to buy your bet back. It is worked out from your numbers, and it is an estimate, not a quote.

The five states to know

The table fills in once your stake and odds are in.

7–0 and 14–7 show the same number: this estimate reads the margin and the clock, not the total score.

How this estimate is calculated

  1. Your American odds become a multiplier and the chance they imply: chance = 1 ÷ multiplier.
  2. That chance is the starting point. The score and the clock then move it, using the same simple model our live cash-out alerts use: NFL final margins spread about 13.5 points around what the price expected, the scoring still to come shrinks as the clock runs, and a team within one score is never written off. It does not know who has the ball, timeouts or field position. More on the model.
  3. Fair value = win chance × potential payout.
  4. Estimated offer = fair value × (1 − the book's cut). Sportsbooks price cash-outs below fair value to protect their margin. The cut is an assumption, not a fact, which is why it is a slider.

Estimate only. Actual cash-out offers are set by your sportsbook, vary by book and by moment, and are typically below fair value. CacheOut does not know any sportsbook's proprietary formula.

This is for planning. The alert is the trigger: when a pick pulls well ahead during a game, members get an email while the clock is still running. You decide at your own sportsbook.
