How it works

A parlay pays your stake times every leg's decimal odds. Three legs at −110 turn $10 into $69.58.
It only pays if every leg wins, so its live chance is the legs' chances multiplied. With two legs won and the last at 70%, the ticket is 70% to pay: worth $48.71 at fair value.
A cash-out offer is fair value minus the book's cut, typically 5–15%, so that ticket would usually show about $41.40 to $46.27.
Each leg still to go multiplies the ticket's worth by 1 ÷ its chance if it wins, and takes it to $0 if it loses.

A parlay pays the sportsbook's margin on every leg, so on average it loses more than the same legs bet one at a time, and cashing out sells the ticket back below fair value.
